Del Valle Coffee Co.

Truly Authentic; Sustainably Sourced Guatemalan Coffee

From our family, to yours.

At Del Valle Coffee LLC we are truly proud to serve from bean to mug! Since the mid 1980’s our family has harvested, dry processed, exported, roasted, and ground our own coffee. Most of which was purchased by larger corporations that exported our coffee to other nations.

Now, our family is pleased to bring our very own coffee to you, right here in Maryland.  No large corporations, no middle men, just family!  From our farm in Guatemala, to our coffee shop in Maryland. From our family, to yours.

Fruity, chocolatey, with notes of honey…

The Del Valle family harvests our coffee from the highest altitudes of Hehuetenango, Guatemala in Central America. Our coffee beans are described as fruity, citric, floral, chocolatey, with finishing notes of wood and honey.

Our coffee is classified as SHB (Strictly Hard Bean), which forms a full bodied, flavorful bean that can only produced at high altitudes. Our coffee also possesses an optimal humidity of 11.5%, and is rated at 86 points out of 100!

Sustainably Produced Coffee &
Better Pay For Farmers!

Rodrigo Del Valle, owner of Del Valle Coffee Co., was a missionary during the early 2000’s and discovered the love that Americans have for their morning coffee. After his journey lead him to become a pastor in a local Hispanic church in Marydel, Maryland, he decided to pursue his dream to sell his coffee direct to the consumer!  And, a big reason for doing so is to help provide the proper compensation that the small coffee farmers deserve. Along with better pay to the farm workers, we also donate 20% of our profits to go to aid in mission work within Guatemala.

Generations of coffee growers.

This is our family!  For 25 years, Rodrigo Del Valle has been at the front of our small business, providing adequate maintenance to the plantations and the phytosanitary practices of our coffee, in order to maintain a high quality product.  While we, and our farm in Guatemala have been producing coffee since the 1980’s, we finally took the plunge and established ourselves as Del Valle Coffee Co. in 2020, right here in Maryland.  We are so proud to be a local small business in Maryland and hope to enjoy a cup of coffee with you!

Our Farm..

Our farm, Finca El Retiro, is licensed with Anacafe, and our registration number is 5451. Our farm is located 1,595m (5,232ft) above sea level, allowing to produce strictly hard bean coffee. It is located in the village of Vista Hermosa, Union Cantinil, in the department of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. We have 2 plants where the coffee is processed. A humid plant, where the cherry waste gets fermented & dried and a Dry plant for the peeling and bean selection process. This ensures that our beans are at peak, “specialty coffee level” and not spoiled by contaminants or with harmed beans.

Finca El Retiro began to export and roast its own coffee in the United states in 2020, under our family name, Del Valle Coffee LLC.
